Frequently asked questions.
First time clients and what it looks like.
The first session that we have, I will require you to fill out an intake form. This allows me to note past injuries, surgeries, medical history, etc. Then we will step back into the room, talk reasons of coming in, about pains you are having, if any particular actions/lifts cause them. I will then leave the room and you’ll get undressed to your comfort level. You will get onto the table and underneath the sheet and blanket. I will knock or have you tell me when you’re ready, and I’ll enter the room. From there, I’ll readjust face cradle or temperature on the table, if needed. Then, I will only uncover the portion of body I am working on. When the time is up, I will leave the room, so you can get dressed privately. You’ll come out, pay, and reschedule!
What is Deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage but with a deep tissue massage, I will apply slow, firm pressure to release muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
What are benefits of Deep Tissue Massage?
Stress relief, reduces pain, may help lower blood pressure and heart rate, breaks up fasciae adhesions and promote better movement, helps reduced symptoms of Delayed onset muscle soreness for performance ability. Etc.
What are trigger points?
Trigger points are spots in the muscles where tension builds up and causes tightness and pain. They are what most people are referring to when they say they have a painful “knot” in their muscle. Trigger points often refer pain to different parts of the body than where they are located. In Trigger point therapy, I can release trigger points by using special techniques of pressure and vibration. It can be uncomfortable for a moment. Trigger point therapy can release tremendous amounts of tension and make many muscle and joint problems disappear. Often the work is described as a “good kind of pain.
What is Sports Massage?
Sports massage is specifically designed to aid athletes in preparing for competition or to soothe the sore muscles that come from strenuous competition or practice. Deep compressive strokes are used to flush out the build up of toxins and relieve cramping and soreness. Helps tremendously with soreness in the body after Rock Climbing
